My Why
My Mission
To utilize my knowledge of technology applications and designs and my innovative and critical thinking abilities to develop, manage and support online or traditional instructional courses in a collaborative setting in order to provide learners with a profound and rigorous learning experience.
My Instructional Design Philosophy
In completing my M.Ed. in Instructional Systems Technology, I was guided by the application of the systematic process of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE). In conjunction with Gagne's nine events of instruction and Bloom's Revised Taxonomy, I am able to design engaging and meaningful instruction that keeps the learner's needs and growth at the forefront. By incorporating interactive, engaging and relevant experiences that cater for multiple learning styles and that builds on prior knowledge, learning becomes a powerful motivator in itself. From the initial analysis of a problem to the design of a system that will bridge the gap between what is known and what needs to be known, to the final step of evaluating whether the system was effective in promoting learner growth and solving the problem, the instructional design process is the foundation and measure of every learning experience and one that I will always strive to improve as I continue my own growth as an educator.
